Early American Indians use cranberries for food and as a dye for rugs, blankets and cloth. In WWII about one million pounds/year of dehydrated cranberries were supplied to US troops. The next step in its evolution is as a bright red wine, bursting with unique cranberry tartness called “ibimi” by early Cape Cod Pequot and Leni-Lenape Indian tribes. Today, we believe they would approach this vibrant red cranberry wine with wonder.
